Day One, Morning: "Hope vs. Vulnerability"

We settled into our Gig Harbor AirBNB last night. This morning we prepare to meet Ryan Blanck, inventor of the IDEO brace. Jan reflects on the day before us.

  1. Sending prayers of hope and healing your way. Hope that this high tech look will be a good fit! Hope that you and Jim will find support in one another through this change. And hope that these care providers will be all that you require in this new step forward!
You are loved much, Jan! Thank you for these clips into your experience there. You are on my mind and heart!

  2. Jan I am inspired by your courage. I cried on the third blog, was so excited to see you walking. I know this is a great blessing. I am so honored to be a part of the circle that you wish to share your journey. Sending you lots of love. I am praying for you every day!

  3. Oh, Jan! I'm just now discovering this part of your blog! And my hope is that as forgiveness, love, joy, and all such timeless parts of graceful god are eternally retroactive and proactive, such is hope! Mostly, my hope has been around 'hoping to see you soon!' I didn't realize how much more of an obstacle course your leg was putting you through these days! So grateful for yours and Jim's persistence and the wonderful, caring invention of such a compassionate, brilliant man! Looking forward to walking with you in great joy and celebration! Ann G.

  4. We are all vulnerable but it is hope that keeps us going. I have this vision that this brace will give you new freedom in your life. Maybe not tennis, but certainly to be able to share your knowledge wherever you want to.
